Pool Specifications by Size
Galvanized stock tanks ship nested from the manufacturer, so exact diameters vary ± a few inches from tank to tank — always measure your actual tank before ordering a cover.

Filter Pump
Waterway TWM-30 cartridge filter pump: 23" tall × 25" long × 16" wide, on a level 2'×3' pad, within 100 ft of a 110v 15A GFCI outlet. Cartridge pumps fit under our curved benches (sand filter pumps do not). Pre-assembled nationwide pools include 10' of flexible PVC between pool and pump — tell us before shipping if you need a different length.
Why Gallons Matter: Chemical Dosing
Cowboy Pools are small bodies of water — hundreds of gallons, not tens of thousands like an in-ground pool. That's why the rules are: start with the lightest amount of any chemical, use 1" tablets in a closed floater plus liquid chlorine, and never use powdered shock, muriatic acid, algaecide, or clarifiers (they're formulated for pools 20–50× this size and will damage the galvanized steel). Planning Around These Numbers
- Base: a filled pool is a parked-truck's weight on your pad — decomposed granite, 2–3" thick, 1 ft wider than the pool, compacted and dead level. Prep guide →
- Covers: measure your actual tank's width from multiple angles — covers fit true to size, max 1.5–2" over. Cover sizing →
- Decks: pool installs first, deck builds around it, with full access to the pump top/sides and the hose connections. The look of the 10ft (poly lip) varies tank to tank — a trim piece covers the gap where present.
- Filling: use a municipal water source with 100' garden hoses; water level stays above the suction and return at all times.
