Clean it every 1 to 3 weeks. Replace it every 3 to 6 months. A rinsed filter is a reused filter. Stay on top of it and one cartridge will carry you most of a season. Every order is a 2-pack.
Why not the cheap one online
There are cheaper filters out there. Most of them are listed as compatible and aren't.
A cartridge that's a few millimetres off doesn't announce itself. It seats badly, water slips past the pleats instead of through them, and you end up with a pool that never quite clears and a pump working harder than it should to get there. By the time you connect the two, you've spent a season chasing chemistry that was never the problem.
If this one doesn't fit your pump, that's on us and we'll make it right.
How to clean it
Pull it out, spray between the pleats with a hose nozzle from top to bottom, and put it back. Covered pool with light use, every three weeks is plenty. Uncovered pool, kids, dogs, or pollen season, closer to weekly.
When a freshly cleaned filter stops clearing the water within an hour, or the pleats look frayed or won't come clean, it's done. That's usually 3 to 6 months.

How to change it

Power off, open the housing. Switch the pump off at the outlet. Unscrew the filter housing lid. Hand tight is all it ever needs.

Lift out, drop in. Pull the old cartridge straight up. Seat the new one over the centre post and press down until it sits flat.

Close and restart. Check the O-ring is seated, screw the lid back on, power up. Water should run clear within an hour.

About the subscription
Pick the 6 month plan unless your pool runs hard and uncovered all summer. Skip a delivery, change the date, pause for winter, or cancel any time from your account. No minimum commitment.
Your first 2-pack ships right away and the clock starts from that delivery. A 6 month plan ordered in April queues its next shipment for October.

How many filters come in an order?
Two. Every order, one-time or subscription, is a 2-pack. That way you can swap in a clean one while the other dries out.
Can I really reuse these?
Yes. Clean it every 1 to 3 weeks and it'll last months. The subscription is there so you have a fresh one on hand when the old one finally gives out, not so you swap it every time you clean it.
Which plan should I pick?
6 months for most pools. 3 months if the pool is uncovered, used daily, or sees a lot of leaves and pollen.
Which pumps does this fit?
Every pump we ship with a Cowboy Pool. There's one cartridge across the range, so you don't need to know your model number.
I've had my pool for years. Is mine different?
Almost certainly not. If you're on one of our earliest setups, send us a photo of your housing before ordering and we'll confirm in a minute rather than have you guess.
Can I return an unopened pack?
Yes, within 30 days. And if you opened one and it doesn't fit, that's a fit problem, which is ours. Contact us and we'll sort it.
